Now, that thing War in The East has about Assault HQs, except applied in TOAW as a temporary designation of replacement rate prioritization for selected "main effort formations" in longer campaigns. I think there's something there.

Defense modifiers if more than one terrain per tile

I've fixed Legacy Bug #14. It was more than just Light Woods and Forest. It was a suite of terrain tiles that only allowed one of a group to be displayed in the Info Panel:

All 4 forest types,
All 4 urban types,
Both cultivated types,
the nine first terrain types (Arid, Sandy, Dunes, Badlands ...

Wait, you can get The Campaign for North Africa: The Desert War 1940-43 (1979) for a mere $1,595 USD; https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/481 ... 0#buyacopy

I should pick up a copy or two...

Re: Artillery and actual unit composition

Example - here it says I have 7:1 odds
Screenshot (11).png
Screenshot (11).png (1.38 MiB) Viewed 2141 times
After battle it says I had 3:1
Screenshot (12).png
Screenshot (12).png (878.47 KiB) Viewed 2141 times
Shouldnt it have been 4:1 and then three shock as stated in the first picture? Why did the defense go from 1 to 7.4?

Artillery and actual unit composition

I'm having a hard time understanding why artillery's defense is as good as its attack.

On the steppe it should be an artillery regiment's worst nightmare being assaulted by a tank brigade. I'm not sure 4:1 odds with shock represents that engagement.

Also, although the pieces show as men or tanks ...

Re: Bought Operational Art of War IV But Didn't Get All Scenarios

Look at the bottom of that window where the scenarios are listed, you'll see the first button in a row of six buttons called "Folder". Click it.

Then enjoy all the other folders full of goodies.

Get to Stalingrad so you have a ricepaper-thin defensive line in the south?

I think I read somewhere that that's a tricky position to defend.

Re: Operational Art Of War IV

The automatic rail destruction described occurs when a friendly unit enters and converts ownership of an enemy hex. In effect, the friendly unit destroys its own supply line as it advances. The rational I’ve heard is that it simulates destruction by the retreating force and/or a change in rail ...

Re: Recoloring Counters and “Old Color”

One other note - colors and the column of colors affect co-operation. It's a visual for us, but the program reads color ID and color column numbers.

Example: if all the infantry are color ID40, but you want to make the "Northern Army" infantry color ID80 so you can tell them apart, but the designer ...

Re: Recoloring Counters and “Old Color”

As I said - it's a bit of a guess at times. You won't know if you picked the right one until you save.

I build a sheet tracking the designer's selected color IDs and then test to see what recolored combinations will look like.

However, for your purposes, designers have a repeating pattern and ...

Re: New Scenario: Bryansk Front Attacks! The Red Army on the Offensive in Summer 1942

One of the Soviet Ground Assets is "7th Tank Corp attacks!" - I cannot find the 7th TK. There's a 17th TK.

Also - what a great topic. I'm on turn 7. The scenario is great fun. Thanks for doing it

(I think the 193RD HQ is miscolored...).

Yes - new program install/updated.

I had the old Documents folder uploaded, so I haven't ruled out that the scenario I'm in isn't the issue.

Program just closes - looking at the crash log

The games will close with no notice - I thought it was my older graphics card being overwhelmed so I saved it a few times per turn.

I have a new tower - with plenty of RAM and a good graphics card - and it will still close without notice. I tried scrolling around a large map with plenty of cities ...

Do you mean this:
SetUnitColors3.jpg

Some of it is a best guess and try again when it comes to close colors like ID5 versus ID68. I found one case where a scenario designer forgot they were using ID70 and ...
