I have had similar problems, but it occurs on WWII campaign during game play. It has occurred on every version so far. In most cases it occurs on the computer's turn.

I usually end up getting rid of the .prf file.

Same here. WinME and 4.5. No problems.

I am finding the same thing. I am playing a WWII campaign and the computer buys a a couple platoons of tanks, company or 2 of infantry and then GOBS of artillery! I look over the battlefield and I see 'patterns' of smoke from all the arty pieces!

The books by Eric L Harry are great. Invasion is the last one out and it really put you into the battlefield.
A really good Vietnam novel is "The Fire Dream" by Frank Allen Lieb. An excellent novel!
