Have similar probs with 4.3, sometimes the sound goes AWOL, but it's back when the next unit fires. I suspect it's a timing problem with the hardware as I sometimes also get these ticks in some sound effects, like a CD missing a beat.

Uh guys, I think you're missing the point a little here. The standard op fire procedure works fine for me, except sometimes when a vehicle passes an infantry unit, they automatically assault instead of triggering a fire opportunity. Even bailed crew seems to try this every once in a while.

I think the biggest problem is modeling such a small unit on the curent game scale. You'd have to add variables for each man in a squad or crew to see whether they're OK, scared, bruised, bleeding, dead or left behind.<br/>

How about putting a repair button in the headquarters menu? You could add a few more, like an 'entrench'-button or something.

Speaking of repairs, how about adding medics to to the game?

I'd like to see it either replaced or redone, ie made less restrictive. If it's only available in solitaire, abusing it would only be cheating yourself. Might as well just edit the endgame files...
Being unable to correct honest mistakes that have deadly results is pain though.
