Point taken; I've had a couple of dropouts; I just put them on my scumbag pile. However, I've also had a couple of opponents who've lost interest, and at least had the decency to let me know...

PBEM players dropping out? Just replace 'em

<t>I've just picked up an abandoned game with Oleg Mastruko, whose original opponent had to drop out due to pressure of work.<br/>
<br/>
Now, I have to say that this is the way to go; as the incoming player I've inherited an interesting situation, and I'm finding it more stimulating than simply ...

Oleg,

I'll take that up, if you haven't got a volunteer already.

I saw your thread re opponents dropping out; I've been playing since April last year, so I think I'm dependable.

Cheers,

John

Well, let me also endorse Bosun as a good opponent, we're on our second game, and we've been playing (time flies...) since July 2002. I'd won my previous two games, but he handed me my hat in the first one.

Not finding it quite so easy this time, though.

I doubt if that would be desirable, regardless of the amount of utility - I love playing PBEM because I'm confident that my opponents cannot access the save games in any way, shape or form.

Having said that, some form of external tool to help manage the campaign would be useful.

<t>I have a theory about this. You say you have 150 LB - got any fighters to escort them? I think there is game logic that greatly reduces the probability of unescorted level bombers attacking a fully-fledged carrier task force, and if you think about it, this is historically accurate.<br/>

<t>I've a dual monitor setup, and I'd be happy to help test any patch. <br/>

However, I already do have the manual setup in the secondary monitor, the problem is that UV captures the mouse and doesn't let it move to the secondary screen, so you are currently left no alternative but to alt-tab ...

Minor feature Request and odd bug

<t>OK, as a Brit, I'm not up with US ship classes. Any chance of adding an additional piece of information for cruisers and below, stated what class they are? I'd like to put the newer, more AA capable DDs with my carriers, and I find it a little tedious to check each one by hand.<br/>

Your original B-17s are the remains of what was on Clark field.

Because of the 'Germany-first' policy, the Pacific theatre was not a priority for B-17 shipments. However, don't worry - in the fall of 1942 to start getting a mighty 7 replacements per month...

I've been assuming that we're not expected to micromanage each squadron, so if you set CAP to 50%, and no escort missions are flown, then indeed, 50% of your pilots should be resting.

If this assumption of mine is incorrect, that would be awful...talk about micromanagement hell!
