Sounds like it - will it get fixed in 1.2?

Pretty unplayable as the Japs at the moment.

Like I saud I have played through as the US but against the allied AI I get pretty consistent crashes.

Recon Planes Cause Crash?

<t>Hi<br/>
<br/>
played through to scenario 9 as the US and had few in any crashes.<br/>
<br/>
Started 10 as the Japanese and gave up after crashes involving US P38 recon AC. Same happens in scenario 11.<br/>
<br/>
Seems to be a combination of air strike and recon aircraft causing the crash and only ...

Great patch - who turned on the AI?

Took a pounding in scenario 8 in the first two turns! Some very aggressive Jap tactics and use of firepower. Co-ordinated air and sea attacks!

Great game. I just submitted my review and saw the rating go from 8.3 to 8.4 <grin> Some pay back for all the hard work Matrix and GG etc put in. Thanks.

I am very pleased with UV.

It would be handy if the ship sunk list and message included the US/UK/Aus/NZ or Jap flag? It s just my poor knowledge of the subject I expect but I am sometimes not sure which side some of those kills were on?

Yep.

I put mine on CAP over the enemy units or base I want to attack. I find that the AI will try and fly supplies/troops in if you stop his ships. Pity the Jap AI doesnt do the same thing to protect its transport planes?

<t>Its always best to isolate the enemy you are going to attack both in the air and on sea.<br/>
<br/>
I always put a CAP over the landing. Shoots down any incomming and also shoots down any Jap cargo planes. I mine the area and I also put a surface combat unit in the hex to stop enemy ships ...

Long Range CAP intercept?

<t>Had a situation in scenario 5 where I gave a Fighter Squadron orders to provide long range CAP over an island to intercept any resupply and protect the TF bombarding the shore.<br/>
<br/>
Worked great every turn but........<br/>
<br/>
On one mission they intercepted some Jap transport aircraft ...

I have transfered whole squadrons to CV's as sort of replacement and rotated some to land bases rest and reforming although I think disbanding would be a better idea. See the manual for the difference between withdrawl and disbanding.

How about letting us have the choice of printed or CD manual?

I would be prepared to pay the extra because its going to cost me a cartridge to print off with no binding and poor quality?

Me, I would pay the extra for the printed bound manual.

But I use alt tab.

Two simple things I would add in the patch would be:

Quick save = alt s or similar?

Link combat and sighting reports to the ship/plane datbase for quick reference remembering that these are of course not 100% accurate (reports that is)?

Great game!

Scenario One

<t>Just completed scenario as the Allies.<br/>
<br/>
Decisive victory. Only lost 3 gun boats and wiped out the transport fleets. Lost Gili Gili because I made a hash of landing/transportting troops. Held Buna though by flying in the 14 Aus Bde by air, mined the harbour and put my subs in the GG and ...

Duchet team

Got my copy today another 24 hour service from Duchet team.

Another Gary Grigsby classic - reminds me of Second Front for the Amiga and War in Russia. Those were the days!
