Mikawa

Yeah, but isn't this guy supposed to be an active commander? Afterall, he did contribute rather enormously at 1st Savo.

Mikawa

Shouldn't he be available to actually command ships? I still haven't seen him, but would very much like to use a leader with ratings as good as his.

Admiral Mikawa MIA?

Has anyone seen Mikawa show up? In none of the games I've played, more than 1/2 a dozen including those in progress, I've never seen him available.

missing HQs

<t>In a current Pbem game I have noticed that the HQ's for the 2nd and 38th Divisions haven't shown up, nor are they listed as scheduled to arrive. I am certain I haven't missed them, and in fact my ground unit losses are very low 31 points.<br/>

Yamato

<t>Recently I received the Yamato in one of my Pbem games... It received 3 percentage points of damage just sortying from Truk on its mission. Somehow, the computer did a lousy job of setting up its bombardment mission to PM and it was in air range just prior to attacking. It was hit with 3 1000lb ...

<t>Hi Erik,<br/>
<br/>
I have no problem with seaplanes getting strafed. I know that most of those at Tulagi were taken out, IIRC by the Yorktown just before Coral Sea. What is odd to me is that the survivors are trapped because the airstrip is damaged. How can you damage that seaplanes use?<br ...

First, are the Emily's on the base or in the water? If they're in the water, how can they be affected by the base damage<br/>

Seaplanes trapped at damaged base?

I don't think this is a bug, but it is probably something that ought to be changed. My Emily's are getting strafed and slowly picked off at Lae because the airfield is a wreck, but they are presumably in the water. What can I do besides withdraw them?

Super Green US Pilots

I also noticed that my carrier air groups now include pilots in the 20s and 30s as reinforcements. This is after no carrier combat, and these guys are fighter pilots.

Not able to switch mission types in 2.11

<t>Hi, I just noticed that some B-17s didn't do what I commanded them to do last turn at PM (Bomb Lae) and when I went to check and see if they had the right missions they did not. So I switched the mission on the unit in question, then hit the button to switch all other types at the base, and upon ...

Solution

<t>I am personally amazed the Matrix has developed a model for each individual air combat. As much as we may all want, I don't think there is any way they can account for every possible variation of combat conditions. My 2 cents worth on this is that there is a clear consensus on what the solution ...

Another B-17 Turkey Shoot

<t>I wanted to test this patch for myself, my results were:<br/>
<br/>
21 B-17s unescorted to Rabual on turn 3 of Scen 17<br/>
<br/>
They are intercepted by 44 Zeros, including obviously some from the carriers now in Rabaul plus 4 Claudes<br/>

<t>Could someone from Matrix who is reading this please post a follow up on how to rename save game files? A6M woes

<t>I agree with you Tony, I've done the exact thing thing and seen the same results. I think there may be something about the fighter combat mechanics, because even if you simply look at Matrix's own ratings -- inferior pilots flying inferior planes and being outnumbered should lose -- shouldn't ...
