RE: curiouse: Hows SS sales doing.

Basically developers see very little profit from games sold in shops, that's OK for EA and the like who sell a lot of games, but for small publishers like Matrix it gets to the point where selling via retail isn't worth the trouble.

RE: Dude! Where's my Carrier?

<t> The carrier will jump out of the system if it's threatened, better to lose a few fighters then to lose an entire carrier. You can always exit the mission from the menu if no bandits are still around, justify it to yourself as ditching and being picked up by a capital ship. In game terms all you ...

I should hang on until Milo, the developer, gets a chance to look at it.

Yes it's the normal sort of thing, links to web-sites etc., nothing you can't do by other means.

RE: CTDs after installing 4.0.1

<t> Mine also appeared to follow the same pattern, but I just tried to prove it by starting a mission, letting 60 seconds elapse, ending the mission from the menu and starting another. Result - 5 missions with no CTDs. The differences between these missions and the ones where I had CTDs on ...

CTDs after installing 4.0.1

I've had a few CTDs at the start of missions since installing the 4.0.1. patch. Errlog.txt file attached.

I just tried again and it seems I get an error unless I choose a 'Defend' mission. The error message is something like 'Player "Echo" is not in the Janek sector".

You can transfer to the Janek Station in the Shining Fortress campaign and fly fighter mission from it, I just tried it. It's a space station BTW.

I've noticed the same even with fighters. If you transfer to one of the squadrons, when you reload you're reassigned back to the wing in general. My guess is that your current assignment isn't saved

RE: Commander

Yes, but I imagine that the reason why the player is always the element or flight leader is the difficulty in programming an AI leader. I get annoyed in IL2:FB when the I get constantly told to stay on the leader's course even when I'm dogfighting a couple of 109s.

<t> Yes, but if you transfer to a squadron, you can only choose missions for that squadron. E.g. if you transfer to the fighter squadron, all choices involve F-36s. You can always transfer to anything else you are qualified for, I notice in the second campaign, you can transfer to a squadron on ...

RE: Price in £s

If you look in the online store and select UK as where you live it will tell you :) .

To save you time it's £24.99 + VAT, which works out to £29-36. That's for the download, it will be more if you want a CD.
