RE: What new scenarios would you like to see?

I would like to see a scenario about the German offensives in 1918, and if possible to the end of the war in November 18.
Another one would be the Indochina war.

Personally I am for everything weakening the power of artillery. :)
So I prefer long delay, bad accuracy and large dispersion.

Dien Bien Phu, a French wargame. I played it with my cousin. He played the Viet Minh, and very well, even if it was his first wargame and didn’t know anything about military history. I was ashamed by my performance…

The most important characteristic for your squads ?

<t>Of course the quality of a unit is determine by the total given by its characteristics. But, according to the way you play, or for any other reasons, there can be a characteristic which is more important in your eyes than the other, which you prefer.<br/>
In my opinion it is the moral, the rally ...

From the attacking perspective, that is where infiltrators come in mighty handy, IMHO. They can pop up in the middle of the city and start shooting. Very disconcerting to the defenders. (Of course ...

Yes, it is the feel I had. I should have been more cautious, and wait the good time.
The only problem is in defense against a "stronger" army (my Hungarians against my Russian's opponent) : have they a chance ?

If I should prefer a terrain, I would pick semi-urban area. But I don't have any preference. I don't simply like too open map, like deserts or steppe.

How do you lead those troops ?

<t>In one of my first SPWAW I played a Hungary force in a city fight against a Russian opponent in 44. As a beginner I really led my troops stupidly and lost the game rapidly. I did the same thing in a scenario, I don’t remember the name, where I played the Rumanians against the Hungary at the end ...

Very good hints, as usual.
And you can keep your MGs on your rear, ready to fire. Then they can cover a retreat if something doesn’t work well. Or they can defend against a flank counterattack too.

MG when you progress and attack

<t>What is the best way to use MG when your troops are in attack ? I have found two problems with them when I play an attack : they can’t fire if they move, their move slower than the squads, and then can quickly left behind.<br/>
So my question would be : how do you use MG when you progress and ...

SP Mortar/artillery in direct fire ?

<t>I have tried sometime to use SP mortar and howitzer in direct fire, even with the Z key (area fire). I would like to know if it’s a good idea to use them in direct support. Or are they too precious for that ? A interesting thing to do with the SP mortar, like the German one, is to use their smoke ...

Yes, 15 % is a good idea. At the same time I would say that there shouldn't be Off Board Art in meeting engagements, 105mm at the max in Advance/delay battle, and what you want in Assault.

<t>I haven’t play SPWAW since some month now, I would like to re-start some PBEM soon. For the moment I am playing some campaigns, to relearn the game.<br/>
I remember something which annoyed me when I played PBEM battles, it was the fact that when I played a meeting engagement or an advance/delay ...

SPWAW H2H

I have SPWAW 7.1, but I don't have the mod called H2H.
Does someone could give me a link where I could download it ?
Thanks in advance.
