RE: Reducing Fort Levels

<t> I do not think that is the case. I see them being reduced only when I have killed or disabled a Much Larger Enemy force. If I have the proper defensive units to defend a position I have seen even poorly supplied troops hold off and punish 3 to 1 odds, for weeks. Get a good Arty LCU, An engineer ...

RE: Reducing Fort Levels

<t> I don't think it is a loophole. I was just wonderign if teh Engineers in teh Sea Bee (Construction Battalion) units will act as combat engineers? Having worked with them, I know in real life if a Sea Bee unit was in the combat zone, they would have done well as combat engineers, for fixed ...

RE: Reducing Fort Levels

This is what I was afraid of. Oh well, I was hoping that someone would say, "Yes if you do X it will reduce the fortifications." Oh well. I guess I will just keep smashing my troops agianst teh Ramparts. Cold Harbor anyone?

RE: CV TF - Ideal Mix of Ships

<t> If I am putting a Killer group together, I do not put CVE's in with my CV's. They are just to slow. I usually use the CVE's as an airshield for my transports. I have taken to pulling the FM-2's and the Torpedoe planes off of one CVE in the group and replacing it with an F4U- or F6F group for ...

Reducing Fort Levels

<t> Hey I have a quick question that I hope developes some long answers.<br/>

I am working on reducing fortification levels. Is there any way to reduce them other than LCU attacks? I have been bombing and bombarding several bases for over a month and when I land, they have fort levles of 7 ...

That was my understanding as well. I woudl think that this should be changed. The Surface TF's have many drawbacks, that subs do not have. One is the ability to be attacked by air much more easily. They are also worht a great deal more if lost. Subs don't cost very much and ...

RE: Great game but.....

I wonder how much of a Coding Nightmare it woudl be to give SC's the same ability as Sub TF's? If an enemy unit enters a hex with an enemy TF in it, you have to pass a check on the engagement. With Subs it is with each sub in the Hex, same could be with Surface forces.

Should be fun. I think your WPO will add a great deal to the WitP experience. I can see this leading to much more Surface/Comerce raiding in all other scenarios.

<t> I think a Nice little Force of One CL and one or two DD's would be nice for this. The Lone CL would be nice as well, and you don't have to kill all of the Transports in one engagement. They will not outrun the CL. If you stake out a deep water middle of nowehre shipping area you will have ...

Well if you guys are in Denver, do me a favor. Head down to Old Chicago and Tip back a few for me as well. I spent far to much time there when going to School at Lowry AFB, in 1992.

But then again, many of the people that didn't show may have had to work. I had every Veterans day off while I was serving, since I have gotten out I have not had one off. Strange before I was a Vet I had all off not that I am a Vet I don't get my day off?

<t> If operating in the DEI/PI don't forget to use Choke Points. Get sighting reports, and plot the movements. Then use the Choke points between islands to make your chances better.
