RE: XP Gains

<t> After all, you don't get XP for hitting shutdown titans, or for dodging when not in danger of being shot at, etc.<br/>
Jocks can practice crouching and standing during training, just like shooting at immobile targets - and they don't get XP for that.<br/>

RE: How do I scan enemy planets?

<t> The Survey Ship's only advantage is the extended scan range.<br/>
Giving it the ability to get intel on colonies would have been too much IMO, especially coupled with the tech that allows movement to empty sectors. The defender just wouldn't be able to defend against such probing actions.<br ...

RE: How do I scan enemy planets?

Survey ships and scouts do survey planets, but from orbit. They'll detect the system specials if any - which other ships don't. In Supernova, of course, as in Armada there's no system specials.

RE: How do I scan enemy planets?

In the vanilla game, you have to orbit the colony in order to get intel on it. In Supernova, there are some new techs that allow you to use your colonies' scanners to scan other colonies from afar. Ships do not allow you to scan colonies from afar, they'll only detect fleets.

RE: Expansion Questions

<t> Not sure what you mean by turn replay. There is a sort of turn report, with the Message List display. There you can check the battles you were involved in the last turn. It's easy to identify the battles you won and the ones you lost. By checking the ones you lost, you should be able to know of ...

Make sure the trade route will be profitable. No use in setting it up and then lose money.<br/>

RE: How can I find a summary of trade routes?

<t> Looking at the starmap you can see your trade routes. If you hover the mouse over them, they'll tell you what's being traded and the money they're generating. <br/>
You can also check each colony, under Income. Using the expander arrow you get a detailed description of all trading involving ...

RE: How does combat work?

Combat is RTS, and you do have some control over your ships.
This game is way better than GCII, there's really no comparison IMO. Supernova really made Armada shine.
And yes, there are troops and you can invade systems. Supernova added some troop types too.

You have to research the Find Wormholes techs (Large -> Medium -> All). Then, to be able to use them, you have to research the Use Wormholes techs.

RE: How do you succeed with the Unn?

In the 12 Races scenario, yes, but in random maps they start with only 3 fleets.
(appears you can't build arks, at all).

Notice that in order to build any ark ship, you need at least 10 pop of your own race in the colony.

RE: Some quick questions before buying

Races and ships can be modded by editing the XMLs. You can have these files in the Mods folder, and create a shortcut to run the modded game, without messing up the base game.
