After playing it and seeing the AI charge with 1 brigade at a time and me easily winning any battle I only play with Quick Combat now. Poll again after the patch.

RE: OAW Locks Up

<t> The most lock-ups I've had is during an interdiction phase. It doesn't always freeze then, but it has about 50% of the time... it will get some portion of the way through all the '(etc) is attacked by (etc)' messages, and then simply lock up in such a way that I have to forcibly end the TOAW ...

RE: OAW Locks Up

I usually run into this problem in the 3rd or 4th turn of resolution. I haven't been able to play a full scenario yet, so I'm waiting on the patch. COW works fine, however.

Ports and supply

Are captured ports able to trace supply to friendly ports now, or do you still have to create an event trigger with a supply point? The help file hints that it's enough to have two friendly ports to trace a 'general communication route'. Same with airfields. Truth or dirty, evil lies?

P.S. There are some pretty serious image attachment restrictions here. Very unfortunate. Just allowing .PNG compression would have allowed me to post the whole shot.<br/>

[Bug] Units transported by sea retain sea movement points

The example I have is the Korea 2005 scenario. If you embark naval infantry and send them directly to Ulsan airport (guarded only with an air unit), the unit goes into attack mode. If you select it and go to 'Plan attack', it captures the airport hex, but retains its sea movement points.

<t> Geez. Talk about rude...<br/>

People make mistakes and the fact that they acknowledge it is something you don't normally get these days. It's a slap in the face to people who work hard to supply their customers with a better game, to criticise them in such a way for making a mistake ...

RE: Air Power "Abstraction"

<t> I never said that using combat support was a waste of aircraft in general. I said it's a waste of aircraft when you don't have significant air superiority. Your CS planes are going to get chewed up otherwise, and you'll have nothing to show for it but a reduced capacity to support ground troops ...

RE: Air Power "Abstraction"

Combat support is a total waste of aircraft until far into a scenario where you already have air superiority.

Yeah, I agree that there is no penalty for defending on a river hex. I believe this is also in the documentation, as well as covered in the help file.

New interface art
Proficiency, readiness and supply in interface
Phases remaining and planned combats display

There is no 4th feature unless you count phases and planned combats as 2 items.

RE: Where OPART shines and fails

<t> I don't even really see any of this stuff as gameplay weakness. TOAW's strength is in its scale and abstraction of other branches of the military. I would probably get behind a version that allowed you to create an operational level naval battle, with abstracted land and air; as well as ground ...
