Re: Anyone seen the Unicorn?

I have playtested WitE2 since it started development and I keep good notes on all of the games I have played, either against Players (very few) or the AI. In all I have gamed the 41 Campaign to Jan 42 over 500 times over all of the versions. Having done so, the following are a few observations:

Re: DEPLETED Units

Not enough depots at high enough priority. You should have the forward depots at priority 4 and about two or three depots back at priority 4 too. This depth allows the further back depots to store some supplies when it can that gives you a cushion for the bad weather or turns that the supplies are ...

Check to make sure that the Air AI is not enabled in your options screen. This has been known to flip on/off on its own in rare instances.

Re: Turn 1 German Air Losses

The original post has a high LW air loss because of Ground Support being on during the turn. This will result in bombers flying without escorts (so high A2A losses) and a LOT of air mileage used up (so high Operational Losses).

Re: Multi role units deploying to map

It probably appears wherever you have placed the Arrival Hex. If you hit 'r' and go into rail mode you will see a single hex that is solid yellow, this is the Reserve deployment hex. You can set a specific hex (I usually set it to Warsaw) by right clicking on the hex and setting the TB Appearance ...

RE: T127 - counter-attacking can be fun

After some checking on previous game data it does appear that the Trucks Lost in Freight DOES go back to the start of the game. But in the reporting I was looking at that number would increase by 50 and yet the Vehicles Repair Pool would increase by over 4K for the same turn.

That area of the Event Log is misleading you. I think it is the number of Trucks lost in Freight for that turn - not since the start of the game. It is also important to see how many vehicles you have in your Vehicle Repair Pool. Many times trucks go into the Repair ...

RE: Turn 1 Axis Panzer Group Combat Results

There is more to it than just moving one rail to adjust the size. The smaller engines used by the European rail system carried less water and fuel. So you have to site and build new water tenders and fueling stations along with the infrastructure to replenish those new sites.

RE: Air Supply Depots

<t> The Axis leaves priority 4 until the depots fill up or when you need the freight further forward. Then you lower the depot priority and let all of the built-up freight flow forward from closer. This will keep your supply line flowing into mid-Jan 42.<br/>

Hit 'r' and make sure they are on a rail hex connected to a working rail hex. This is the most common problem that causes what you are seeing happen.

<t> hoss - you picked a fight with the best Soviet Tank Division at the start of the war. It was fully equipped with T34s and KV1s. It was experienced and fully trained. RE: Is There something Wrong With Odessa?

If you bomb railyards then supple depots will lose material to the bombing attacks. If you bomb units this will not happen. So if you are trying to reduce the supply in the hex you bomb the railyards.

RE: Is There something Wrong With Odessa?

<t> It depends on the sequence that you isolated Odessa. Odessa is a major depot that supplies almost all of the Southern Front at the start of the war. This will usually drain the depot over the first few turns. If you isolate Odessa by sea first and then isolate it by land you will help drain the ...

RE: Scenario: The Destruction of Southwestern Front vs Sov AI

In a campaign scenario the AI will ALWAYS build up to 200 divisions if it drops below that number so it always can build a line. I do not know if something like this is triggered in a scenario or not.

RE: Is this game good anymore?

Game options are set in stone on the initial start of the game in HvH games. AI games allow changes at any time.

There is an outstanding question in another thread as to whether the Editor could be used to change those settings in an HvH game after the start.
