Re: abandoned

I've moved to Vassal for my World in Flames gaming, especially since the Collector Edition was out - but I vividly suggest to focus on bug squashing and drop any AI velleities for anything beyond the Barbarossa scenario. And not even that if I am to be sincere.
A game such as World in Flames is so ...

Re: Where's the Axis AI Luftwaffe?

Even if you were to play against a player, by how the air war is structured (very poorly), so long a front is mobile the Luftwaffe fails to keep up.

Since the Air Phase is before the ground phase, an 'Air Superiority' mission needs to be done from an airfield already controlled.
If the Bf109 do AS ...

Re: Finish Theater Box Termination?

The TBs are definitely an abstraction; and they are indeed disjointed from the 'on map situation'.

in 99,9% of the cases the events roughly match what happens, because in the wider and ampler majority of the games the W.Allies have their 'invasion' and the Germans simply are ever fighting against ...

Re: Withdrawal schedule...

There is no penalty if you can control the Theather Boxes - by itself at least.

The conversion into another unit type - and the subsequent change of ToE may be delayed but it will happen.

TBs are checked by percentages of requirements fulfilled. So long there are enough troops and air assets in a ...

Re: Improve Support Squads

I pointed that out previously, and tried to tinker about it in a mod.
I am working on a very similar mod (just restarted with the latest patch)

To add CV to the Support Squads is okay early on but later on will backfire as anyhow Soviets have more stacked - albeit this is the first and easier way ...

Re: Red Snow : The Days Our Mothers Died

Russians should just proceed to Berlin in '42, and put the German player out of misery - if you are to play til the end.

IF you will just settle for some riverline in '42, you'll prolong a game that won't teach anything to your German opponent as they'll spend the '42 in refilling a portion of ...

Re: WITE2+WITW?

Have you played it - and gone across the sea with the 'Western Allied' units?

I've not but I've tinkered in modding, on a ground connection it's not a problem to label say London, Liverpool, Manchester - and maybe Tunis and Algiers and Cairo and Alexandria as NSS (like Berlin or Moscow).
But once ...

Pretty sure you cannot.
It's not something moddable in the game.

Re: WITE2+WITW?

All zones can be included as active on the map.

I think the real problem is that WITE also reckognizes specific sea zones as active, and thus Allies won't have cargo shipping across the Mediterranean or the Atlatic.
Correct me if I am wrong kindly.

Re: Where are the Railway guns?

I may be wrong but it is not something that can be handled.
It will rely on the good will of the player to not use such unit unless the rail repairs consent to it.

Excellent work for pictures!

On the other hand I doubt the Germans can continue the game to the end, Soviets will be in Berlin by end of '42!

Re: Axis units cant receive supply after winter 1943

Can you post a pic of your depots? :ugeek:

Confident it's a Supply Pool issue at this stage, considering some units are sitting in Berlin.

Freight must be there, since troops have Ammos, Fuel, and that comes from Freight. The problem is specific to Supplies.
I'd rather be interested to see the ...

Turn 1 Soviet Air Over-reactivity?

I am not sure what has been changed in the code, but it seems Soviets are extremely reactive during Turn 1.

The Soviets are meant to be surprised but intercept A LOT, and that includes even intercepting well into Axis territory as if they had radars, knew the enemy was coming, and all the jazz.

I ...

Re: Manually running the Axis first turn Ground Attack on the VVS for 1941

Somehow in the last patch the Soviets are VERY reactive on Turn one.
Far too much.

But then again I am of the opinion that instead of playing lottery with the game I'd simply have the Soviet airforce put to Rest on Turn1.

Re: Siege mortars.....

Check if the Pool is the Active or Transfer one.
If it is the 'Transfer' one with utmost chances is a damaged piece that got removed from one of the existing unit, and is stuck in the Transfer Pool.
Roughly 25% of the Transfer Pool goes into the Active Pool each turn (which amusingly means that if ...

Re: How can you play a game which takes 2+ hrs/turn?

I believe the fundamental difference is how TIME is spent.

We do in life many things that can be quite lengthy. Not necessarily just wargaming.
Say, to watch a long movie, or a soccer game, that's a hour and half. Just as example.

The point is that IF across the time invested one is having fun ...
