RE: The War for Survival - M60A3TTS vs Saper222 (no Saper)

<t> Airplanes don't run on diesel or car gasoline, but rather on aviation gasoline or jet fuel. What kind of an airbase would stockpile large quantities of diesel fuel to refuel tanks? The airfield has to stock and maintain its own needed fuel, and putting a fuel depot inside the airbase would not ...

RE: All quiet on the Western Front?

<r> Bombing the Reich takes hours to play 1 simulated day. Is WITE's details such that players need to decide which airfields will be attached every week? In the real campaign, that probably amounted to 50+ airfields. I think the old SPI War in Europe abstracted the air war too much, but it is also ...

<t> Why didn't France and Great Britain declare war on Russia in September 1939?<br/>
<br/>
(1) With Poland obviously overrun by the Germans, why take on two superpowers?<br/>
(2) An Allied/Soviet alliance was inevitable given Hitler's lust for territory<br/>
(3) The Allies were not prepared to ...

Some early wargames on the Eastern front did not show the Russian CV, but they were very enjoyable games (Panzer Group Guderian, SPI). If you want a "game", versus a "simulation", why not let the Russians have a chess-like movement capability. In fact, giving the Russians ...

<t> The German armored formations will slowly bleed to death. Everytime they enter the battle from reserve decreases their capacity next turn. The key is to have lots of anti-tank assets and artillery to make this as expensive as possible. Hit the Panzers with airpower, especially using Sturmoviks ...

My problem is not that the version number of one is not correctly displayed. My problem is that I cannot run the new executable. The old executable still runs fine. Playtesting requires usage of the new executable.

I downloaded the new executable into a new folder, but it was a subdirectory of the default folder. Are you saying to move it to a new folder which is not a subdirectory of the default folder? My executables are not in the same subdirectory.

Problem with WITE 1.06.19Beta

<r> I saved my 1.06.19Beta version to a subdirectory of the default location so I had access to two executables. The 1.06.19Beta executable results in a black screen with white letters jumbled up in the upper left corner. The. 1.06.14 executable says now it is a 1.06.19Beta version, but the tool tip ...

<t> I agree that Russian command and control appears to be too efficient. I would only display the maximum MPs a Russian (or German) unit may have and when they are out of MPs, the unit stops. The perfect orchestration of massive defenses and complete encirclements would make modern armies envious ...

<t> If the Russian attack capability was more accurately modeled, the UBER-encirclements and mass German retreats would be significantly curtailed.
