Wasting AMRAAMs on helicopters

<t> In Canary's Cage, I often see F18s launching 2 AMRAAMs on a poor helicopter.<br/>
Would it be possible somehow to avoid this ?<br/>
Like keeping LR AA weapons for fighters (or HV units like AWACS), and short range missiles or cannon for helicopters ?<br/>
That's not only to avoid RTB, but ...

RE: Mission Activation Time request

<t> Hello, I agree, good idea.<br/>
<br/>
I hope you won't mind, I'd like to add a few suggestions about the feature :<br/>
1/ when you have aircraft readying at various stages, you might like to have them all launched together,<br/>
in order to achieve defense saturation, instead of taking off ...

Ok, I don't have always time to check out what has been said on a subject, sorry for that.
I don't suppose we have access to this to-do list ?

Being able to add RPs (in a given order) to ingress route and egress route would be fine, for example.<br/>
Similar to how you edit patrol zones for example.<br/>

RE: Submarine datalink

<t> Well, giving control of the subs to the AI with limited human control and data update (contacts etc) is the idea.<br/>
I suppose it should not be the scenario creator's job to implement or simulate this.<br/>
<br/>
I think that this is part of the real world which should be taken into account ...

RE: No fuel indicator

<t> Well, about the range it's more important for short-legged fighters than for ling endurance support A/C (AEW etc.).<br/>
So, range at cruise speed for example (I expect it's close to "best range").<br/>
<br/>
Sorry I do not get what you mean by "fuel over home plate",<br/>
but it should take ...

<t> Sunburn, I understand what you mean.<br/>
I was just expressing a need/feeling, in order to start some brainstorming.<br/>

And well, ExMachina, you have translated what I meant in a more specific way, thank you.<br/>
What you express would nicely improve things.<br/>

[WAD] Submarine datalink

<t> I think I've seen some similar post, however my issue is :<br/>
submarines seem to be aware of all changes on contacts detected by other units,<br/>
and instantly, as if they had some high speed connection like a L16 or whatever.<br/>

Avoiding enemy SAMs (etc)

<t> It seems that aircraft easily fly into the enemy weapons range, when it's known (see other post),<br/>
even if they are not attacking that target (i.e. on AAW patrol, aircraft can enter a ship's AA weapons' range).<br/>

Setting a reference point relative to hostile

<r> Is it possible to have reference points relative to a hostile contact ?<br/>
I have tried, and :<br/>
1/ there was a message "Some of the highlighted reference points are locked and could not be set relative to the unit."<br/>

Suggestion : be able to force contact type

<r> You can mark a contact as hostile, but you cannot tell "your staff" to assume it's a given type of ship for example.<br/>
I explain : if the emissions from the contact enable you to narrow down the possible type to only a few (one of which is an hostile one),<br/>
maybe you want to assume that ...

Plotting around No-Nav zones

I have seen aircraft "bumping" on No-Nav zones.
It seems they are not able to plot around these zones from the start and follow the edges.
This leads to longer routes and maybe can explain some fuel-related crashes (of the planes, not the game).
Any one else aware of this ?

RE: No fuel indicator

<t> [:-]It makes sense from a unit point of view, but not from a group point of view.<br/>
As the guy in command (that's what CMANO is about, isnt'it ?) you want to know where they can go as a group.<br/>
I would suggest displaying the worst case (shortest range or time left for example).<br ...

Hello, I had the same concern.
Since it's incremental, I just applied 478 and then 479 again.
Seems to work.

B649 - Formation Editor changes not saved or reloaded

It seems that when you move stations in the FE, save and reload (after quitting, at least), the changes are not recalled.
That was seen in Canary's Cage scenario.

Mission Editor : asset selection

<t> When assigning assets (i.e. helicopters) to a mission, it would be useful to be able to see to which group they belong. For example, if two groups have the same type of helicopters you could end up assigning the wrong ones (from group B) to the ASW mission you're setting up in front of group A ...
