I asked for this feature back in the beta but unfortunately it never got implemented. Thank you for doing this, this is great!

Re: Zebtucker against KB2003 VtB

Nice to see another late war AAR. I feel like VtB gets played very rarely, which while understandable, is a shame as the scenario is really interesting. Will be following this, good luck to you both.

My tip to you Zeb is to watch out for armored counterattacks: The German Panzergrenadiers and ...

Re: Since early 44 my PBEM has turned silly -----

As for leader losses, the Germans have lost 58 leader so far. Don't know how that compares to historical losses in those commanders at that level, but the Germans had around 200 generals die during WWII. There is a tradeoff between how close you keep your HQs to the front and the risk of them ...

Re: Airbase bombing and interception

If you say that the air war was "random", you fundamentally do not understand the processes of the air war.

You CLEARLY did not understand Mehrings comment so let me explain it for you: He said that which unit would get hit by interdiction was random, which is true. He said nothing about the ...

Re: "Set Static" - Opinions

I am not convinced, so I do ask: what's the general consensus about the practice?

I dont use it. The benefits from it are not big enough to outweigh the cost (becoming completely immobile). You want your units to be as mobile as possible both in case you need to put pressure on a front and ...

By the way, does "Steel Inferno" will have 1943 Grand Campaign and/or 1944 Grand Campaign scenarios ?
Yes, it will have both a GC 43 and a GC 44. Check the official announcement for more details!

Sorry have to correct you @HLYA on this but its not the 11 PZ but in fact the 7th

The 7th Panzer Division was an armored formation of the German Army in World War II. It participated in the Battle of France, the invasion of the Soviet Union, the occupation of Vichy France, and on the Eastern ...

Re: Airbase bombing and interception

Seems odd to me that the claim you made and very clearly showed in the thread is just being dismissed off hand. Like I already said in that thread, I think it is an exploit and an issue. The Soviets should be nowhere as good at launching such massive raids this early in the war. This was already ...

Good write up. I hope Joel sees this thread.

The issue with being able to see enemy aircraft movement in the Log is one I reported on ever since the game was on Beta. It already is on the bug list but at low priority. Seeing how much it can be abused as shown here will hopefully lead to its ...

Re: Recombine losses WAD?????

Now I see it, changes to pioneer squads, from 73 to 60
If this is a reduction to cap from OB I don't see this as good solution. AFAIR in WitE there was no meltdown of over-capped elements unless they were over 125% and that worked ok.

I agree with Denniss: This isnt a good solution. Might need ...

Re: Disbanding units and experience/morale values

The question is why would you ever merge as either side except for teleporting <x> amounts of manpower and equipment into the production pools? I'm not an expert on the combat simulation, but won't 2 understrength divisions perform about as well as merging the 2 into 1?

Because you are very ...

Elements of 11th Army are now on the move by rail to Kursk (11th Corps) and Dnepropetrovsk (49th Mountain and 54th Corps) that will reinforce threatened areas in the coming weeks. Genl. Model elects to retain 30th Corps at Nikolaev.

Good choice keeping 30th Corps in reserve while pressing the ...

Re: Disbanding units and experience/morale values

AFAIK, nothing is retained. The manpower just goes to the pool. When another unit draws manpower from the pool the elements coming in adjust to the morale/exp levels of the unit they are joining. New replacements will drop the values down however. I think only using the "merge" option you can retain ...

Up to that point, based on I guess movies and television- that an infantry division was mostly infantry squads all day long. Now I realize that in order for the infantry to be effective, they need a lot of combat support- and administrative support behind them.

But also makes you think about ...

Congrats on that encirclement at Voronezh and on clearing the Crimea. Where do you play on sending the 11th Army now? Will it move to support AGS? Or are you planning on using them to relieve a Panzer Army that you can then keep in reserve?

Re: Battle On The Ice: fracas vs ToxicThug11 GC

Fantastic play. The Axis seems to have taken the bait and are really suffering for it. A weakened Panzer Army is great news for you. Even if he continues to encircle forces, you will have better chances to breakout because his units will be very worn down.

Keep up the good work!
