Re: A constructive discussion about stability, patches and bug fixes

Gentlemen,

Although I agree with much of what has been said and the pragmatic approach of the penultimate post, let us all just remember that we are expressing frustration over a beta. The purpose of a beta is to be beta tested; and that is what we are essentially all doing since 1825. It is not ...

Post a zipped save or scen for the devs.

Also the build of the game and the database version you are using.

Why? That adds nothing to the conversation. Anyone can check the database and see the latest values, whether what he says is true.

I've long been wondering why diesel-electric ...

Thoughts on lighter than Air

I'm fascinated by lighter than air airships in the time period depicted in RTW. However, if this game gets developed further, I recommend that the lighter than air side get a second look.

Right now, it seems that you can build and entire airship base with all infrastructure and 8 (!) airships in 3 ...

Re: Build 1868 facility icon issue

The slider works. The problem is that the base icons seem to be out of scale with each other. Sea and air icons are normal, but ground units and facilities are tiny. I can adjust the ground icons, but if I simply use the Icon Zoom slider, the ships and aircraft end up being huge when the ...

Re: Fleet exercises: any use?

Do it for YOU, the player.

Can your ships hit anything? Would their armor may as well be made out of butter? How are you going to integrate air ops when you get there? How capable are you aircraft? Do you understand the battle UI?

Try to learn stuff.

[Q] 1825.15 and Steam

To get the latest version 1825.15 on Steam (from the public beta branch), are we waiting on it go go live still, or do we need to switch from the beta branch back to the main branch?

Re: Santiago de Cuba 1898

Very well done scenario and ship design.

I can't get the historical result as the Americans. The Spanish fleet makes a break to the west at the start of the scenario and my battleships can't catch up. I can send one cruiser to slow them down, and sometimes I can damage one of their cruisers enough ...

Terminal Rocket-Boosted RV in database?

Is there anything like this in the database? Is this possible to model in CMO?

1825 Bell Jet Ranger-Based Helicopter Issues

Please see attached.

Seems that all Jet Ranger-based helicopters in DB3000 don't move properly or consume any fuel.

This might be a database issue, it seems that the altitude bands overlap, is it supposed to be like that?

I let the Steam update run overnight and all seems to be working well.

It works, but expect hours, not minutes.

No pressure, but do we think this is days or weeks out?

I just want to know if I should wait to upgrade before starting a new campaign this weekend...

I really liked Stamen the best.

Would you consider accepting the paywall and making access to tiles a paid add-on like Tacview? What would the cost be to the end-user?

Re: Thoughts on Bathymetry Layer Contour Levels

My only thought is that the bottom topography is relevant in determining where CZs can exist. In the example used in the Aegean, it gives the appearance of deep water, but there will generally be no CZs. The current bathy layer does a good job of highlighting this.

I supposed a useful compromise ...
