The reason I mention commerce is that it gives 'commerce bonuses' at two points that I believe, don't understand the exact mechanics and they're opaque as far as I can tell, but it seems to make zone traders more profitable and this kind of funding a lot more sustainable

It doesn't go in the trash, if you're producing stuff in excess of your capacity to store it what happens mechanically is the excess gets sold on the market ...

I just noticed this happening in my current game. The AI would turn some airbase into a new zone then merge it back into the original zone every other turn.

I noticed because all of a sudden 40,000 people would migrate from my capital to this new AI town every few turns. I sent spies to check the ...

Whats your commerce profile? How rich is your own population? My sense is most market demand comes from your own pops, if you make them richer maybe you'll get more demand

supreme command council generally assuming their stats and background are good for that, they'll level admin quicker and get you more PPs. somewhere else if you have that covered well enough and the leader's stats would be better for something else

i noticed this too the other day, i assumed it was opaque mechanics working in the background. maybe something like a leaders willpower or wit stats having some small effect

I like to tick everyones pay up 1 credit each game turn, it only costs 1 PP to change salaries and giving everyone the smallest possible raise every turn gives a nice constant happiness boost

I just dropped my directors salaries from ~60 credits a turn to 10 though and something unexpected happened ...

the ai i just attacked had good ornithopters or whatever the flapping wing planes are called. they didn't use them because i had a motorized flak gun unit (they're good for hard attack in large calibers early game but expensive) but i heard someone talking about a youtube aar where the ai was using ...

I have them all turned on, but i have to be honest, i dont really understand how they impact... i like the cults, because of the extra cards they give, but i dont understand the negative that comes with it.. or never 'feel' it.
