Check out a thread I created called "Build-Up of Air Groups" started on March 23. This will explain how reinforcements of air groups work.

Tom,

Air Groups are attached to the same command of the base that they are at. Unlike LCUs showing up at S.F. that are attached to S.W. Pacific, or Central Pacific.

The answer to your first question.<br/>
<br/>
No, the planes become damaged, and do not return to the pool. As planes are destroyed at the base the damaged planes can be repaired to get the squadron up to the airbase limit. Although I believe if you move that air group to another ...

I noticed that the 44th BG showed-up in S.F. with B-24's, and the production date of B-24's is more than a few turns away. Using the editor, I changed the type of aircraft to B-17's.

Why does the change command on heavy bomber groups not work?

<t>Yes, it is a real downer when that happens in the first few weeks of the war. I think when Matrix made the new version, the Japanese aggressiveness is a bit lower in the first few moves compared to the original; thus, not racking-up the number of victory points as usual. But what the hey, I'm not ...

Build-Up of Air Groups

<t>I noticed on a thread a few days back that someone was disgruntle about how the game builds-up the quantity of planes in an air group (B-29's). I have noticed this since v1.0, and it has gotten progressively worse in the v2's. In my current game, playing Allied side on even advantage, I have been ...
