RE: Aurora 4X

<t> Well, I like it and have spent many hours playing it. After a while you get used to the interface and honestly, WITPAE and other games also do not have the most userfriendly interfaces<br/>
<br/>
Of course there is a reason that Aurora is often called "Dwarf fortress in space" [;)]<br/>

RE: How Did You Learn to Play the Game?

<t> Coming back to the topic I started to learn by playing "War in the South (West?) Pacific" on the C64 from a guy called Gary Grigsby. When "War in the Pacific " aka Pacwar came out I played it hundreds of hours on the PC. There was a vivid community during the late nineties, for example the ...

RE: Are Gaming Reviews Biased???

<t> I stopped looking at reviews a long time ago and I also stopped buying games when they go gold. Most games nowadays are released with a lot of bugs which often are not discovered before you get deep into the game. As most reviews are not only biased but also test the game only very short and ...

Jon Lord R.I.P.

Today is a sad day for all music friends. Jon Lord died from cancer at the age of 71. For me he was one of the greatest musicians ever.

You will be missed.

R.I.P.

<t> Don´t worry, we all know that it is just the quiet before the storm and also, if you are not one of those dealing with Zuiho´s engines, war means 95% of waiting and 5% of action.<br/>

RE: What's your favorite American civil war game and why?

<r> I won´t recommend my favorite game in this thread because it is really old, but I still play the good old "From Sumter to Appomattox" made by Frank Hunter in its upgraded exe from 2004. I can run it under Vista 64 without problems and it is also free. You can find it here:<br/>

thank you very much for posting these very interesting stories from the civil war. As a German I usually side with the underdog (Germany, Japan, Confederates) and follow your story already for a while. <br/>

<t> If I remember correctly the Matrix guys were hosted on the long gone "Thegamers.net" where they started with the well known mods of WIR and PACWAR. Later a group of modders started to improve the graphics of Steel Panther2, it was called SP2WW2. Still later they started to mod the game itself ...
