Hear, hear. Another possibility from long ago is Pyrrhus, who else consistently fought the Romans to a standstill using a phalanx army?

I'd like to suggest Davout. I have a suspicion that if he'd gone to Spain in 1809 or 1810 that old Nosey may have had a really bad time. My other is Fontenoy's favorite Saxe no other 18th century French general came close to having his success.

Some of us are busy. Some of us get singed when we do post generally for posting ideas that are either impractical or unpopular. Some of us are busy playing SPwaw or something similar. We wait for the avalanche of pre christmas releases.

There are some SPWW2 WW1 OBs. They mostly include colonial troops, and there are no East Front OBs, an area I am very interested in. They are fun to use as Africa was an intriguing theater in WW1 as well.

It's titled Steel Wind and anyone who wants to understand how to use artillery better might be very intrested. This book also states that shrapnel shells were obselete before the end of WWI ...

<t>Chiteng Y. was so ambivalent about things. I'm sure some Japanese thought he spent too long at Harvard, especially for a Japanese navy commander. My "feeling" for the situation after your clarification (thanks) is that if he was intent on suicide; why not sepuke. I've studied a couple of ...

jacques there's already a recurring debate about how much realism is involved; its probably true of every attempt to simulate something with so many variables. I have quibbles too my favorite one is the missing gebirgsjager. There are always trade offs I suppose.

the materials about Handschar that I read, Mitcham's Crumbling Empire make me really dubious about any combat value for Handschar unless you have some Christian villages in the Balkans to be destroyed.

<r>Chiteng I was trying to undersand what your opinion was based on. When I got my history degree even professors who gave opinions would explain why, with sources if asked, they held that opinion. Don't you believe that if the Japanese were wise to the fact that we were reading their mail that they ...

Patton as vince McMahon

Fellows and Ladies, I know very little is sacred in the wonderful wworld of rasslin' but last night the chief shill compared his boss to George S. Patton. I should know better but I was genuinely offended. Georgie deserves better.

<t>Chiteng I would love to see anything like a source you base your opinion on; I'm familiar with Yamamoto's prediction about running wild for six months, and then the deluge of US production would begin. I think suicide is a very strong opinion. I'd also love to know how Y knew the code was ...
