RE: Is This A Joke?

This is one of the more amazing threads I've seen here. The thread originator was complaining about a WALL MAP he bought from Matrix. How is a font change, a 60" monitor or any of the other totally irrelevant comments going to alter his WALL MAP.

RE: Sub Refeuling at Sea

<t> I have been able to refuel subs with no problem. What I find really strange is that AO's run out of fuel with 20,000 (barrels?) of fuel in cargo tanks. They won't refuel themselves. I haven't tried putting each AO in a separate task force. Maybe they can refuel from another AO.<br/>

RE: Please, patch, fix my leader leak

<t> No, I didn't mean to suggest that auto-convoy had anything to do with funky commanders being placed in command of your ships. I only noted that many senior officers are being placed in command of merchant task forces by the auto convoy system. Of course, maybe I didn't notice. Perhaps the ...

RE: Please, patch, fix my leader leak

<t> By the way, having run out of political points for no reason that I can fathom (no excessive use), I strongly suspect that when WO Fujiyama replaces your cruiser captain, the appropriate political points are deducted. Almost certainly, when Admiral Ching Lee is placed in command of three bananna ...

RE: Please, patch, fix my leader leak

<t> I have figured out where the quality commanders are going, having found several. The automatic convoy system, being otherwise totally FU, is stealing your commanders. It would think nothing of grabbing Lord Nelson to command two harbor scows. Find these convoys, dock them, disband them or ...

RE: Does anyone else think the USA CV pilots are over skilled for 1941?

<t> I don't think so. Peace-time training can produce good pilots. However, are you sure that IJN sent carrier aviation to China. Even if they did, I'm not sure how much valuable experience was obtained in combat against hopelessly outdated aircraft with half-trained pilots. What ships were the Vals ...

RE: TF Movement pathfinding

<t> I would say "pretty awful" is giving it the benefit of the doubt. Early in the 42A scenario, it was routing SF return convoys within 180 miles of Rabaul and then right through Tarawa. Later, many convoys were routed very close to Guadalcanal, where they were attacked by a hundred Betty's and ...

RE: 1.3 update?

<t> This whole process has been rather frustrating for me and, obviously, many others. After venting my frustrations somewhat, I find that many of the major problems I became frustrated with are going to be fixed (or at least changed). Where, before this thread, was any of this addressed? What did I ...

<t> It seems as though the program might be busily deducting political points when it puts these weird commanders in. It is September 43 in the 42A campaign and I have run completely out of political points.<br/>

RE: CVE's and replacement air groups????

<t> I am totally confused over this whole process. There is another thread out there on this subject, but no one seems to know much. There seem to be several possibilities and no one "in the know" seems to respond. As I see it, the possibilities are: (a) It's broke and no one knows it's broke. (b ...

Perhaps the reviewers are waiting for the game to actually be finished. I'm beginning to wonder about that myself.

RE: Incredible CD unit

<t> True, but you could throw a rock to the transport they sank, which in 1962 was still sitting on the reef, with the paint somewhat tattered, but the Imperial chrysanthamum (sp, wtf) still gleaming on the bow. Also, they were old naval deck guns mounted on concrete slabs with integral sights far ...

RE: Watch out they produce themselves.

<t> It was Makin Atoll, which is approximately 2.6 square miles of flat terrain, leaving approximately 100 5.5" guns per square mile. It took over a month, with 6 BB's ending up in the U.S. repairing sytem damage. Basically, the only way to knock them out is by destroying all supply with heavy ...

RE: Carrier Aircraft Replenishment

<t> Mogami:<br/>
<br/>
Did you get my files? I'm pretty sure this problem is driven by something funky in the pilot allocation. Leaving the Nassau in port in a TF, the number of aircraft available has been 7, then 6, then 2, then 6. The variation has been driven by the number of pilots, which ...

RE: Watch out they produce themselves.

This is indeed a bug. In another thread, I discussed a base unit that had 245 5.5" coastal defense guns. This base unit started out near Lae and ended up in the Gilberts. It started out with 2 5.5" CD's.

RE: Carrier Aircraft Replenishment

<t> Thanks for the reply, Mogami. Each of the carriers only require two or three SBD's and TBF's (which I have no replacements for, as they are included with CVE's which also have a Hellcat replacement unit, which doesn't really exist, which eventually decide to fly, which...Oh, WTF). <br/>

RE: Shoud Bombardment increase Sys Damage?

Why trivialise over 5 system points for bombardment when 75mm howitzers have just put 18 system damage points on your bombardment BB's? The whole bombardment scenario is blatantly ridiculous. Why make it moreso?
