RE: First topic: 40 Man rosters etc...

<t> Some quick thoughts on the financial system, as transplanted from another thread:<br/>
<br/>
Not sure if the financial model is one of the areas that's open to polish, but I think it's one of the areas in Puresim that could use a tune up. A while back I was thinking about this, and I think I ...

RE: PureSim 2007 v1.50 (Official Patch)

Not sure where to post this -- and it's really a minor point -- but "Yale" and "Yale University" are listed as separate schools in the XML for determining a player's college. I'm pretty sure it's the same place...

RE: BryanK's Historical Players Mod Released

<t> The facepack would be 99% accurate if used with 2007. Further, I've updated the database that shipped with PS2007 such that the facepack would work 100%, but I never released the file. I don't have access to the computer right now, but I can recreate it if there's interest.<br/>

Limit the Number of Association Backups?

<t> Is there a line of code in the user.xml or anywhere else that will allow us to limit the number of association backups Puresim will make before over writing them? Right now I have like 5 or 6 backup copies, and given that I'm running puresim on a laptop with limited HD space, I'd really only ...

<t> I expanded by 4 teams to a total of 20 in a league where all of the teams are CPU controlled. I got a bunch of debug type messages after setting up the divisions, but everything worked fine.<br/>

<t> If Puresim is running when you copy over the facepacks, you should quit the program and reload.<br/>

On a 3.0ghz machine with a gig of RAM, it takes about 20 minutes to sim a 162 game season for a 16 team league.

RE:

Item 2 in my original post is my own fault. I made a modificaton to the player card that was causing the problem.

The XML bug, however, is still there. Changing the description tag and nothing else causes the XML file to be rejected and the program to crash.

RE: Worth the upgrade at this point?

<t> To me, 2007 marks where Puresim is really coming into it's own:<br/>
<br/>
The almanac is a big plus.<br/>
<br/>
The new player card, believe it or not, has really added a lot to the game for me. It feels a lot cleaner than in the past; clicking on tabs instead of sifting through a list of ...

RE: Curent face pack?????????

<t> I'm in the middle of an extended move right now, and all my drives and disks are in boxes... so I can't get to the facepack. It was a collection of all available faces, and it spanned from 1900 to present. Did you just want the current stuff? There should be a bunch of modern facepacks available ...

Observations & Minor Bug Report After Half a Day with the Game

<r> I set up my league and have been poking around since 9pm or so last night. I've only had a couple hours of sleep in between, and I wanted to share some thoguhts before I sluffed off to take a nap. Overall, PS 2007 is a *huge* step forward. Truly a fantastic game.<br/>

<t> I think it's one of those silent majority things, Shaun.<br/>
<br/>
Beach, I'm not in the beta, so I don't know for sure, but last year the player card was just an html file. It might be possible to flip the order of the bio and the ratings by changing the order of the html code. Also the ...

Of Decimal Points and Almanacs

<t> I just took a look at the screenshots up on the main page, and I noticed that the alamanc goes out to four digits for things like batting average and OBP. Is that customizable? It just feels a little weird since I'm accustomed to seeing such figures to only three digits.<br/>

Logos in PNG Format?

<t> Right now I think Puresim only supports .gif files for logos. Is there any way to add support for .png files? Aside from helping to create an "industry standard" among baseball sims, it would allow for higher quality logos. I just converted a bunch of my custom .png logos to .gif, and they look ...
