RE: crossing the rhine problem

I believe you also have to use those non-core strategic bombers to cause flags to turn white. You'll get a message when you have turned enough.

RE: Celebrating 100k hits and 755 days of war!

Great Job John!! I haven't posted in a while but I lurk every day hoping for an update. My fav event so far was when Wobbly was planning his diversion to make you shift forces from the India attack and came up with the Java invasion. It had me on the edge of my seat.

RE: KB obliterates convoy!

<t> I agree with Tom that the system is to blame. But to fix it you have to understand the circumstances that led to the 10:1 kill ratios in RL. The Japanese at least once maybe twice off loaded thier carrier planes to defend Rabual. By the time of the Turkey Shoot there were few experienced pilots ...

RE: THE WAR IN INDIA IS OVER - Karachi falls!

Congratulations Pzb. I take back everything I said about losing momentum.[&o][&o] The battle for Java should be fun to watch.

RE: Rawalpindi operations

<t> Boy I don't get on the boards today and look what I stirred up. I see what you mean about needing overwhelming force to go against Karachi. You can't argue with needing to take out his fleet first. And since you are already at Rawalpindi its a moot point. I sincerely hope it won't take you too ...

<t> Hi John,<br/>
I've been following this AAR since the start. I must admit to checking it more than once each day hoping for an update.<br/>
<br/>
So far I can't think of a better IJN start.(exceot for Hiryu/Soryu[;)]) You have pushed the Allies to the brink in India. But instead of pushing for ...

<t> Hi Wobbly,<br/>
I've been following this game with much interest. I haven't posted in either thread before as since I was reading both I didn't want to inadvertantly give anything away. I just wanted to say I think you did a fine job and if you could have hung in there a little while longer you ...

RE: CV strike composition

<t> I think you guys are missing the most important element here. Its not the total number of planes but rather the number of planes each CV can launch in a certain time interval. PH strike was limited by how many planes Nagumo could get into the air at one time. Coral Sea, Eastern Solomons and ...

Man that's a bummer. I feel for you. Exact same thing happened to me in UV. Killed my game also. I really hoped bugs like these didn't make it into WiTP but I guess they did.

RE: Question on Good Books on the Pacific War

drwho,
That set is worth every penny. Some info is a little outdated but you won't find a more detailed outline of almost every major and minor battle. Leyte is a whole volume by itself. It took me the better part of a year to read.

RE: Can an Allied Player Win the Game?

<t> I'm not sure a 180 day reinforcement increase for the Russians is very realistic. All their forces are at Moscow. In fact I'm fairly certain that IRL Japan could have really done this after the Siberians were moved. The only thing holding them back was thier fear from the previous drubbing ...

RE: New Book (to me)

<t> Those planes you saw in Seattle used to be in the Champlin Fighter Museum here in Mesa, Az. I got the chance to see all of them many times including the 190d as it was being refurbushed. My fav had to be the P-38. I was really sad when they were sold and moved last year. Glad you got the chance ...

RE: B-29 Superfodder

<t> The Schweinfurt raid according to my sources cost the USAF 65 B-17s. 58 shot down, 2 to flak and the rest to ops. Another 12 were scrapped and a further 121 were damaged but landed safely. The mission had P-47 escort for the first half of the raid although it seems they had no escort while ...

Yes someone is still here reading your AAR.[:D]<br/>

I would keep KB in theatre. Two reasons. First you won't have the base forces to support all the planes. Second the B-17s will dust any base they are at before you can use them against an invasion. B-17s are quite ...
