RE: Kyushu J7W "Shinden"

As far as I remember, the first "test flight" ended with the propeller ends being damaged after contact with the runway during takeoff. That postponed further testing a bit. There were some pictures about this damage somewhere in the net, but don't ask me where.

<t> Three reasons for playing:<br/>
a) German history of the 20th century is not one of the brightest episodes of mankind, so it's a bit dificult saying "let me play the axis, I want to change the operation barbarossa" as a German, especially at PBEM-games. <br/>

Heared about it in the german radio news, as a side note. It was reported as the last in a row of scandals shaking the polish political system.

Saw that myself one year ago. Was hoping that this was patched now, but doesn't look so.
Which version are you playing, Hoplosternum?

At least you have a reason to station Corsairs on your CVs now[;)].

RE: How Many of U have Upgraded Ongoing PBEMs to 1.8?

Two games upgraded, one in 2/42 so not a great thing, but the other in 9/44 (1,5 years in real life). In this one we only had a handfull of turns since the upgrading but no problems so far. 1.8 seems to be ahead not only of 1.7xx, but also of 1.6 as far as I can tell.

<t> I think you have to check if the ships you want to build are naval or merchant vessels. At least as far as I understood the shipbuilding concept, there is the difference between both types as you have different shipbuilding facilities and capabilities. Going for that tiny TF with one CVL and some CAs in the middle of the pacific.
Problems: PBEM, I was Allied, it was 3/42, there were 6 CVs in the TF.
Had 3 Essex-CV very early in the game as a resukt of that encounter. Lost most of SoPac due to non-competative allied navy in 42.

<t> When it comes to Atols, try to bypass the well defended ones like probably Kwajalein. take the smaller ones, don't haste it. You will not win the war in the Gilberts. Does this also happen with units beeing Picked-Up or ist the Pick-Up-routine OK and useable?
Have used both in the past and have lost some units but don't know if it was only when air-transporting.

Pacific War
War in Russia
Carrier force, knights in the desert, carriers at war - all for the c64
Amiga was a hard time, with Empire the best if I remember correct.

Definitely my favorite ones, and the ones I dumped the most time in, from scooldays to now [:(]

<t> High command was another candidate. Unfortunately, this game had a great concept but was missing both reliability and a Ai that could meet at least minimum requirements. They (360) probably did not consider beta tests an important thing.<br/>
UMS was also a bad one.<br/>
And I have a game ...
