RE: A "Premium" Edition of the game ?

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
Thank you for the quick answer. Your dedication for this game continues to amaze me.<br/>
<br/>
When at first I read about a possible computer version of WiF, I just thought it was an impossible task : with it's very imbricated sequence of play, and the enormous difficulty of ...

A "Premium" Edition of the game ?

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
I just start another thread, cause the one asking for MWIF Merchandise has been hijacked, and turned out totally OT.<br/>
<br/>
I've just finishing reading the 5 pages of the "When" thread, with all the updates from Shannon Okeets. <br/>
<br/>
First, it's IMHO the best ever ...

RE: Error 819 after 1.3 patch

Thanks for the answer Mr Frag, I'll send an email.
If this can be of any help, I have an error 771 when trying to launch the game under Win98 (still have both OS installed on my computer).

Error 819 after 1.3 patch

<t> Hi,<br/>
<br/>
After a long break, I've tried to reinstall and update WITP. Game is running fine after install, and after 1.2 and 1.21 patches.<br/>
However, I've a 819 error when the game is loading after installing 1.3 patch. Since I've only dial-up connection, I would prefer to avoid to ...

AI in HHTR/COTA

<r> Hi,<br/>
I've just finished my first campaign of HTTR : historical Arnhem as Allies.<br/>
It was only my third game of HTTR (played tutorial 1 and para rescue as Germans before), and as you can see, I am quite disapointed by the level of the AI :<br/>
Is there any projects to raise the level ...

<t> Thanks again for the fast answer. It's really awesome to see all the features that will be implemented in COTA : I can't wait for this game now !<br/>
I'm particulary glad that the routing/retreat will be reworked.<br/>
I'm slowly discovering all the depth of the game : I've just started my ...

<t> Hi Arjuna,<br/>
<br/>
Thanks for the very quick and complete answer.<br/>
<br/>
Yes, I'm using the last patch. Guess I've still to learn how to place the defend icon. Also, I'm not familiar for the moment with frontage and depth.<br/>

Here is a little more :<br/>

RE: Wish List

<t> Hi,<br/>
Just discovered this wonderful game. Really a thrilling experience : I think i've not played a game so fun and innovative since Close Combat II.<br/>
Here is my wish list :<br/>
- When issuing a defense order, i'd like to see units use towns and woods to provide cover. As it stands ...

<t> I do not see your point Zoomie. I think a player should assign units to HQ not to match history (if I want/plan to send an army in a specific point, it's my choice), but because the game REWARDS this.<br/>
IMHO, it's already the case. If you want to get replacements, to get the HQ combat bonus ...

RE: History of the War in CHina vs Japan

<r> I think too the way the Japanese-Chinese war is depicted in the game is ahistorical, mainly because this war was not a conventional one.<br/>

RE: WitP Wish List

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>Personally, I don't that would be good for this game. IRL, generals didn't have "assault values" on their units. If you do that, it would turn the game into a type of "Panzer General", which although a fun game, something like that would ruin what this game attempts to ...

<t> Here is my list : <br/>
<br/>
1. Give us all the resolution tables (formulas) used in the game. This is the most frustrating point for me : it's a strategic/operational game. How can I plan operations if I don't know the exact effects of what I'm doing ? <br/>

2. Give all location max ...

<t> There is 3 benefits from prep value. All of them are gained when the unit is located at the base he has prep points for.<br/>
- training. If the prep value = 100 the LCU gains experience rather than prep points, up to a level of 75.<br/>

<r> Allied sub doctrine seems working proprely for me. Just consider the following facts :<br/>
